Tire Swing!
last update: 03/22 @ 21:55
At Sarah’s request, Chris picked up a tire for us and dropped it off this evening. Robert thinks it’s really cool…

… I had a good time on it as well.

For the Record…
last update: 03/22 @ 17:46
… we started our garden a couple days before the White House. Sure, our garden is a bit smaller, but then, so is our house.

Thanks to a Christmas gift from Hank and Sally (which we finally unboxed and installed), we’re expecting fresh thyme, basil and chives in a few weeks. Robert has enjoyed the formal task of taking the dome off the top as the sprouts start to pop up. I bet he’ll also enjoy harvesting, when the time comes.

Return of Taylor
last update: 03/21 @ 21:23
“Robert’s intended,” as Taylor has been referred to, brought her parents back to the States for a visit. They moved to Western Australia when she was about 18 months.

That’s Romeo on his head, Evan, Caroline, Taylor and Robert. I expect to add a few more photos later and will update this when I do.

As promised, more play date photos in Robert’s section.

First time ever skating!!
last update: 03/16 @ 20:35

Step I: see if you can reach the wall and determine that ice is slippery. Step II: half an hour and a couple of falls later, figure it out and skate to Mommy! (Click on pictures to see smiles more clearly.)

St. Paddy’s Parade
last update: 03/08 @ 16:20
We had great weather for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade (held a few days early by Alexandria). Here we are checking out the map of the parade route. More photos in Robert’s section.

Rules? Not for me….
last update: 03/04 @ 22:08
Actually, this was a sanctioned rule breaking: sledding has been the P.E. exercise at Robert’s school since the students returned after Monday’s snow day. This evening as I went to pick him up, he was just heading out to the slope for a few more runs. I think I won both speed races, but he beat me for distance in our last race.

Except for the signs, I really like this hill better than our home hill, the Masonic Temple: fewer trees on the slope and no road at the bottom. Of course, I would have been very happy to go sledding with Robert and Sarah rather than to an M$ Project training class Monday.

Oh, it’s hard to tell from the photos. but it really pretty steep as well as plenty long….

I think Robert only promised one last run 3 or 4 times before I was able to convince him we needed to go home.
