Science and Engineering Festival 2016

April 16, 2016
We had two days for the Science and Engineering Fesitival this year, since we knew it would be so cool. And I think we did well with the time we had (you can always spend more time there). All the way from the F16 to the 1960's cosmonaut helmet, it was full of intersting stuff to see, touch and play with.

There were robots of all shapes and sizes; many with controls passed around to anyone wandering by. And, in an homage to one of the MythBusters episode, a non-Newtonian liquid you could run across ‐ but don't stop, then you'll sink in.

Ceramics, metals, liquids, magnetics, all sorts of stuff. Including the occaiasional astronaut walking through. And a live hook up with the Space Station to talk with an astronaut.

There was even a simulator for the cargo docking maneuver to resupply the space station (simulation courtesy of Orbital ATK and their Cygnas, one of the current commercial resupply companies and rocket models. And I think I mentioned the cosmonaut helmet... I can't think of anything that would keep us away when we hope it comes back in 2018.
