National Zoo -- March, 2008

March 2, 2008. After 3 and a half years, we finally took Robert to the National Zoo when Suz was working at the Invertebrate House. While it's always fun to go to the zoo, especially on a nice day, it's really cool when you know the spider feeder. Suz puts on a great show, and Robert enjoyed seeing all the cool things she could show off. And the front row seat for the feeding was extra cool.

For some reason, they don't feed the tarantula in the open like that. But she made sure Robert had a really good view of it in its tank. March 2, 2008.
March 2, 2008. We also enjoyed the statues available for climbing on. The frog on the left and the monkey below. It's too bad the triceratops (in the background at the top of the page) is not climbable any more....
Of course, on a nice day, it's hard to compete with the giant pizza playground. Where else can you take turns being stirred in the tomato sauce? March 2, 2008.
