Botanic Garden, January 2006

January 8, 2006. We made a quick trip in to the US Botanic Garden for the final day of their Christmas train display. Robert had a great time. It was hard to drag him away from the trains to look at any of the other rooms. It's not too hard to see why: they have one train at Robert level and two at about 8 feet up (one at either end of the room).

The bridges and trestles are all built from trimmings from the Garden (or so they say); being as this was in the Botanic Garden, I expect no plants were harmed in the making of the train tracks. Also amazing, the buildings, by Paul Busse, are made of natural plant materials. Look closely at the US Capitol...

We did drag Robert away for a pass through the jungle room, but we'll have to go back when the train distraction is gone to look at the rooms we missed. January 8, 2006.
