17. Ollie Mae Williams. Ollie Mae Williams was born August 31. 1899, near Norway, South Carolina. She graduated from Norway High School in 1915 and from Columbia College, Columbia, South Carolina, in 1919. Ollie Mae married Fletcher Newton Dantzler October 20. 1921. Newton was born January 15, 1895, in Santee, South Carolina, and died February 28, 1976. He is buried in the cemetery of Providence United Methodist Church, near Santee, South Carolina. They had one child, Heyward Newton Dantzler. Ollie Mae Williams Dantzler died July 12, 1981 and is buried in the cemetery of Providence United Methodist Church, near Santee, South Carolina.correction 17A. Heyward Newton Dantzler. Heyward Netwon Dantzler was born November 5, 1926. He graduated from Providence High School, near Holly Hill, South Carolina, in 1943 and from The Citadel (B.S. degree in Business Administration) in 1948. He served in the United States Army as First Lieutenant from 1948 to 1949. Heyward was the Commodity Director of the South Carolina Farm Bureau from 1961 to 1963. He served from 1973 to 1974 in the South Carolina House of Representatives from Orangeburg County. He was Executive Assistant to Governor James Edwards from 1976 to 1977. From 1963 to the present time, he has been Assistant Manager of AgriBusiness Services for Southern Railway. During this time, he has also engaged in farming in the Providence Community. He has held a number of honorary positions with the South Carolina Farm Bureau and is currently active in the affairs of the Orangeburg Regional Hospital. Heyward married Blonde Louise Shuler December 30, 1948. Blonde was born December 10, 1927, in Elloree, South Carolina. They have four children as follows: Heyward Newton, Jr. (Woody), Jack Middleton, Delores Blonde and Barton Braxton. 17AA. Heyward Newton Dantzler, Jr. Heyward Newton Dantzler, Jr. (Woody) was born February 24, 1950, in the Providence Community, near Holly Hill, South Carolina. He graduated from Holly Hill High School in 1968 and attended The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina, from 1968 to 1972. At the present time, he is farming in the Providence Community. Woody married Frances Louise Creed April 8, 1978. Frances was born June 28, 1953, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. 17AB Jack Middleton Dantzler. Jack Middleton Dantzler was born October 21, 1951, in the Providence Community, near Holly Hill, South Carolina. He graduated from Holly Hill High School in 1970, attended the Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, Orangeburg, South Carolina, from 1970 to 1971, and graduated with an Associate Degree in Agriculture from Abraham Baldwin Agriculrural college, Tifton, Georgia, in 1973. He is, at present, farming in the Providence Community. 17AC. Delores Blonde Dantzler. Dolores Blonde Danrzler was born January 15, 1954, in the Providence Community, near Holly Hill, South Carolina. She graduated from Holly Hill High School in 1971 and from Winthrop College (B.S. degree in Fashion Merchandising and Distributive Education), Rock Hill, Sourh Carolina, in 1975. She presently operates the Southern Lady Dress Shop in Georgetowncorrection South Carolina. Delores married Robert Davidson Harper, Jr., August 3, 1974. Robert was born September 3, 1952, in Charleston, South Carolina. 17AD. Barton Braxton Dantzler. Barron Braxton Danrzler was born January 3, 1959, in the Providence Community, near Holly Hill, South Carolina. He graduated from Holly Hill High school in 1977. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifron, Georgia, from 1977 to 1978 and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical college, Orangeburg, South Carolina, from 1978 to l980. He is, at present farming in the Providence Community. 18. Wyman Loren Williams. Wyman Loren Williams was born April 3, 1902, in Norway, South Carolina. He graduated From Norway High School in 1919, from the University of South Carolina (B.S. degree in 1923 and M.S. degree in 1924) and from the University of Chicago (Ph.D. in mathematics) in 1936. He joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina, as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics, in 1924. He was promoted through the ranks to Professor in 1938. four years later, in 1942, he was made Head of the Department of Mathematics and held this position for the following twenty-five years. He retired from the University faculty August 31, 1970, after having been a member of the faculty for Forty-six years. Counting his student days, he was on the university campus for fifty- one years. Beginning in 1924, Wyman has been active in the affairs of his chosen profession -- the field of mathematics. He served a term of three years on the Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America, was on its Visiting Lecturers Committee for six years, served a term of one year as Chairman of this organization's Southeastern Section, and is currently a member of one of its national committees. He joined Willow swamp Baptist Church, near the place of his birth, in 1913, but when he became a resident of Columbia, South Carolina, in 1926, he moved his membership to the First Baptist Church of that city where it has remained to the present time. He has held numerous positions in this church, including membership on the Board of Deacons since 1929 (now a life member) and a teacher of a Sunday School class, the Baraca Class, from the time of its organization in 1927 to the present time. In addition to his activities in his local church, he has served in various capacities in the Southern Baptist Convention and the South Carolina Baptist State Convention. He was South Carolina's representative on the Brotherhood Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention for six years and a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for ten years (1960-1970). On the state level, he has served on the Board of Trustees of the South Carolina Baptist Hospital and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Anderson College, Anderson, South Carolina. Wyman married Carolyn Lorraine Hendry June 18, 1926. Lorraine was born April 6, 1902, in Savannah, Georgia. They have three children, Wyman Loren, Jr., Leland Hendry and Evans Cooper. 18A. Wyman Loren Williams, Jr. Wyman Loren Williams, Jr. was born May 5, 1927, in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Dreher High School, Columbia, South Carolina, in 1943, from the University of South Carolina (B.S. in 1950, M.A. in psychology in 1951) and from the University of Tennessee (Ph.D. in psychology) in 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1949 and from 1951 to 1952. After leaving graduate school in 1955, Loren spent nine years doing research in training and education for the United States Army. During this time, he was part of a research group, the Human Resource Research Office of George Washington University. In 1964, he joined the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, as Director of Educational Research and Development. In 1973, he moved to Richmond, Virginia, and joined the faculty of the Medical College of Virginia where he continues the same type of work. From time to time, he serves as a consultant to such organizations as the National Board of Medical Examiners, the Association of American Medical Colleges and the World Health Organization. He is active in the affairs of a local Episcopal Church in Richmond where he serves as a Sunday School teacher, vestryman, warden and lay reader. Loren married Sarah Belle Green June 26, 1954. Sarah was born February 19, 1932, in Bristol, Virginia. They have three children, Wyman Loren III, Stephen Douglas, and David Andrew. 18AA. Wyman Loren Williams III. Wyman Loren Williams III was born July 31, 1955, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Westside High School, Augusta, Georgia, in 1972, attended Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Washington State University in 1980 with a B.A. degree in hotel and restaurant administration. Loren worked for eight years in the hotel business in various locations in the United States and in Singapore. In 1988, he left this career to return to school at Georgia State University, where he was awarded the PhD in Economics in 1993. Since leaving graduate school, he has pursued a career in consulting and business software. He and his family live in Decatur, Georgia and are active members of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.Addition Loren married Mary Elizabeth Skipper April 7, 1979. Mary Elizabeth was born May 16, 1958, in Miami, Florida. Loren's second marriage was to Susan Ann Clark on December 18, 1983. Susan was born February 18, 1953, in Syracuse, New York. Loren and Susan have three children: Kate Hendry, Samuel Cooper, and Sally Rebecca.Addition 18AAA. Kate Hendry Williams. Kate Hendry was born on December 7, 1986 in Singapore. In 2005, she graduated from Decatur High School, where she was co-editor of the school newspaper. In the fall of 2005, she will matriculate at Reed College, in Portland Oregon. Addition 18AAB. Samuel Cooper Williams. Samuel Cooper was born on April 4, 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a student at Decatur High School, in Decatur, Georgia and a gifted guitar player.Addition 18AAC. Sally Rebecca Williams. Sally Rebecca was born on November 21, 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a student at Renfroe Middle School, in Decatur, Georgia and a junior member of the Metro Dance corps.Addition 18AB, Stephen Douglas Williams. Stephen Douglas Williams was born, July 26, 1956, in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Douglas Freeman High School, Richmond, Virginia, in 1973, and from Virginia Commonwealth University (B.S. degree), Richmond, Virginia, in 1978. He attended Washington State University, Pullman, Washington where he earned the Ph. D. in chemical physics in 1983 and took a position with the chemistry department at Appalachian State University in Boone NC where he is now a professor. In 1988 He married Helen Linda Johnston who was born on September 15, 1956 in Los Angeles CA. They have a son Aaron Michael Williams who was born in Boone on October 8, 1996. Addition 18ABA, Aaron Michael Williams. Aaron Michael Williams was born on October 8, 1996 in Boone NC. He is a student at Parkway Elementary School in Boone. He is fond of frogs and computer games. Addition 18AC. David Andrew Williams. David Andrew Williams was born December 10, 1963 in Alexandria, Virginia. He graduated from Open High School in 1980, Richmond, Virginia, where he and his parents now live. David Williams graduated from The Evergreen State College in 1984 (B.A. Film and Video Production), worked for King Broadcasting in Washingtion, DC as a news photographer editor until 1991 when he "retired" to Costa Rica. While in Costa Rica he taught English and guided rafts on whitewater tours. David returned to the Washington DC area in 1993 and is now employed by AARP Services, Inc. as Manager of Web Technology for www.aarp.org. David married Sarah Elizabeth Zapolsky November 28th 1998. Sarah was born May 21st, 1966 in Washingtion, DC. She is employed by AARP as a Senior Research Advisor. 18ACA. Robert Becker Zapolsky Williams. David and Sarah welcomed the birth of their first child, Robert Becker Zapolsky Williams, July 22nd, 2004. additions 18B. Leland Hendry Williams. Leland Hendry Williams was born February 24, 1930, in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Dreher High School, Columbia, South Carolina, in 1947, from the University of South Carolina (B.S. degree in mathematics) in 1950, from the University of Georgia (M.A. in mathematics) in 1951 and from Duke University (Ph.D. in mathematics) in 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957 as Lieutenant Junior Grade. Leland was an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Assistant Director of the Computing Center at Florida State University from 1962 to 1966. From 1966 to 1970, he was an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Computing Center at Auburn University. In 1970, he became President and Director of the Triangle Universities Computation Center, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Along with this position, he is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Duke University, North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina. He was a visiting professor at the University of Edinburgh Scotland from 1976 to 1977 where he served as a consultant with the Edinburgh Regional Computing Center and as a Visiting Professor of Computer Science. shortly after graduation from the University of South Carolina, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Leland is currently active in the affairs of the First Baptist Church of Durham, North Carolina, where he and his family now live. He is a deacon in this church. Leland married Cornelia Ann Burnett June 18, 1952. Cornelia was born January 16, 1930, in Columbia, South Carolina. Three children were born to them as follows: Kenneth Felder, Carolyn Leone (Carolee) and Leland Hendry, Jr. Leland changed careers in 1988, when he became Computer Resources Architect at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. From about 1993 until December 31, 1995, when he retired, Leland was assigned to the Department of Defense High Performance Computing Modernization Program. This program was concerned with upgrading research computer capabilities for all Army, Navy, and Air Force research laboratories. Leland and Cornelia lived in Alexandria, VA until they moved "home" to Columbia, a move they completed in April, 1998. They are active in Eastminster Presbyterian Church.additions 18BA. Kenneth Felder Williams. Kenneth Felder Williams was born March 23, 1956, in Dahlgren, Virginia. He died the next day and is buried in the cemetery of Ridge Spring, South Carolina. 18BB. Carolyn Leone Williams. Carolyn Leone Williams (Carolee) was born April 1, 1958, in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from Hillside High School, Durham, North Carolina, in 1975, and from Wake Forest University (B.A, degree in history), Winston. Salem, North Carolina, in 1979. After graduation, she worked for one year at the North Carolina Baptist Assembly, Southport, Notth Carolina. In May, 1980, she was accepted as a graduate student at the University of Virginia. Carolee married Douglas Randall James on March 10, 1990. Doug was born on May 23, 1965 in Washington, DC. Carolee and Doug have two children Alex Gunter Williams James was born on February 6, 1994 in Mount Pleasant, SC. Stuart Winkler Williams James was born on July 9, 1997 in Mount Pleasant, SC. The family lives in Charleston, SC where Carolee is a City Planner and Doug is Project Manager for Osprey Construction Company. They are active in Circular Congregational Church.additions 18BC. Leland Hendry Williams, Jr. Leland Hendry Williams, Jr. (Lee), was born October 30, 1960, in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Durham Academy, Durham, North Carolina, in 1979, and is currently a student at the University of Virginia. Lee (Leland, Jr.) graduated in 1983 (B.S. Commerce) and married Gwendolyn Franck on July 6, 1985. Wendy was born September 30, 1959 in Staunton, VA. Lee obtained his MBA from The University of Virginia in 1988. Evans Cooper Williams was born January 1, 1935, in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Dreher High School, Columbia, South Carolina, in 1953 and from the University of South Carolina (B.S. degree in Business Administration), in 1957. He served in the United States Air force from 1957 to 1977. At retirement, he held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is presently the Manager of the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Missouri. He lives in O'Fallon, Illinois. Cooper married Althea Elise Mack August 4, 1956. Elise was born July 8, 1935, in Florence, South Carolina. Three chjldren were born to them as follows: Sharon Kathleen, Robin Elise and Kelly Lorraine. Cooper's second marriage was to Ginger Dale Cook on June 13, 1981.
