| Hargadon - Costa Wedding May, 2026 | |

| We had a great time at John Hargadon and Grace Costa's wedding. They are a great couple! And it was fun to catch up with the Zapolsky, Hubbard and Hargadon clans — and meet the Costa clan. We are enjoying having the time to take our time for these events. And so we drove up to Brant Lake over a couple of days. |

That gave us time to check out Kaaterskill Falls and Saratoga Springs. We had planned to hike down to the bottom of the falls (maybe bottom of both falls) but the weather was not cooperating and we knew we'd have the chance on our way back from the wedding. The overlook was impressive, and surprising how small Kaaterskill is for creating that cool waterfall. We stayed at the Inn at Saratoga which claims to be (and is, as far was we know) the oldest continuously operating hotel in Saratoga Springs; built in 1843. We were a little bit skeptical when we arrived, but it has been well maintained. And we were completely surprised by restaurant, with quite good food and service, and live band playing. If you have the chance to see Tim Wechgelaer & Chris Carey play, take advantage of it. |

| The next day (also kind of damp and cool), we learned about Fort Ticonderoga and how many times it changed hands in its couple of decades of military use. The rain mostly held off for the canon firing demonstration — which was great! |

On the left, in a bit of rainy haze, is the fort from Mt. Defiance; the British used its height advantage to threaten the fort. We spent that night in Middlebury, Vermont. There is a ferry from Fort Ticonderoga across Lake Champlain to Vermont. No matter how hard Google Maps tried to make the ferry run while we were there, they were delayed a couple weeks and we missed out on that. But Middlebury also had an historic Inn (this time with live jazz in the restaurant). And a nice little park downtown where the old mills used to be. |

| That afternoon, we pulled into the wedding venue on Brant Lake in New York: Jimbos Club at the Point. It was a lovely spot with lots of things beyond the wedding for guests to take up. Like the pickleball tournament that afternoon. |

Dinner and drinks on the beach topped off a great day. The weather broke perfectly for the wedding day: blue sky and 70s. Perfect to start off with some serious croquet. |

| The wedding was a fantastic ceremony officiated by a friend of the bride and groom under the pine trees overlooking the lake. (We'll have to wait on official photos as I didn't take any). And the reception, party and after party were great fun. (I never would have thought about pizza for the after party, but that was a great touch.) |
| Sarah did get some Zoe time in! Of course, we'd always like more time with Miss Zoe, but there was a lot of familial competition with so much family around. After the farewell brunch, we headed south, in no rush, and stopped in Stroudsburg, PA for the evening. Were we found "Sarah Street" — every town should have one! |
